Cris McConkey's Video
is my weblog for broadband versions of various videos I have produced as part of my service work on a variety of social justice themes. Quality may vary. Some may be complete edited programs I have produced with professional gear; other times I may be at an event with only a handheld consumer camcorder and I will upload clips from raw footage. Unless stated otherwise, all the material in Cris McConkey's Video weblog is covered by a Creative Commons 2.5 Attribution Non-commercial (by-nc) license which allows non-commercial use as long as attribution is given.

Some of these videos are available on DVD-R. Send me an email asking for details.

Ismael Guadalupe

Ismael Guadalupe Ortiz is perhaps best recognized for his leading role in the more than six decades long movement in Vieques, Puerto Rico, to close the bombing range which the U.S. Navy opened in 1941, to regain ownership of the ancestral lands expropriated (2/3 of the land), to obtain the decontamination of the Island Municipality of Vieques, and to establish a viable and sustainable economic life. In April of 2005, Ismael Guadelupe visited Cornell University and Ithaca, N.Y. at the invitation of the Latin@ Graduate Student Coalition and the Ithaca Catholic Worker Vieques Support Group.
